Where is shimano reel made

North America is the pioneer of sports fishing, and the Golden State is one of the best places to fish. With a friendly authority and satisfying fishery…. As an angler who loves ice fishing, there is nothing as important as having my ice auger always in good shape.

A properly sharpened blade adds up…. United State is such a place where you can get some of the best fishing experience in the world. If you want to go fishing in the…. Bobbers, Floats, or bite indicators, whatever you call them, they are super useful materials in sports fishing. Every time it shows an act in water, the feeling…. Fishing is a very calm and comfortable activity. It allows you to be close to water and nature.

Many fishermen have different points of view. Some take…. Your email address will not be published. It makes an audible noise when cranked. Not a grinding noise or anything, and it isn't rough, just isn't that quiet. The Sustain is however, very Solid and feels quality Very impressed with the Fuego This reel is seriously blowing me away.

I may just stick with my Advantage and sell the others I haven't decided. I read on another site that the only Shimano spinning reels that are still made in Japan are the Stella's. Also, The Citica's other than the 's are made in Malaysia. I too was surprised when I bought my Stradic i that it was made in Malaysia since I had previously bought a couple of H's on closeout and they were made in Japan. However, Shimano does own the plant in Malaysia so I am not really worried about the quality.

That's what I said: "other than the "s. The Malaysia plant does not have the tooling for the size reels from a Shimano rep.

I will bet that when the New Curado comes out, it will have very minor changes and will be built in Malaysia. The probability that the new Curado will be made off shore of Japan has been confirmed by rep on tackletour I believe. Its sad to see the Sustain is also considering the high dollar amount it costs.

Oh definitely could be Many Shimanos have been made in Malaysia for as long as I can remember. I think the only spinning reel made in Japan anymore is the Stella. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as quality control is monitored, South Koreans, Chinese and Malaysians build as good as anyone.

IMO, the next quality giant will be South Korea, and that may have already occurred. Malaysia is capable of producing extremely good products. Many circuit board manufacturers and computer parts manufacturers have built plants in Malaysia, Singapore and other countries in Asia and SE Asia. These are major names that have done this.

I put less emphasis nowadays on where something is made outside of the US. I just try to look for quality and what's proven. Having said all that, when possible I will give preference to things made in the US. The products JapanTackle deal with are all JDM, Japan domestic market models, which are products sold for Japanese market, and in many cases they are specifically developed to suite the best for Japanese customers preferences.

For bait casting reels, they are more tuned to cast light rigs, and has less dragging in handle turn. These are JDM many oversea customers want to obtain. Shimano 11Biomaster C, Made in Malaysia. JDM is not always Made in Japan. Some products are made in Japan, but many of them are also made outside Japan. Products sold at lower are mostly made at factories outside Japan, like Thailand, Malaysia and etc.

There are some exceptions, and some inexpensive products are still manufacturered in Japan. The original version was Alphas model made in Japan. Daiwa still keep producing the newer Alphas models in Japan, but upper grade models released later like Zillion TW are now produced at oversea factories. JDM has been found and valued by oversea market first by US tournament anglers.
