What does chaos mean in dishonored

Loyalists will be friendlier and more respectful to Corvo. Kill members of the City Watch or Overseers. Poison Slackjaw's still for Granny Rags.

Lady Boyle's last party. Return to the tower. Use the Arc Pylon to vaporize the hostiles. Deal with assassination tarets in a non-lethal manner often actually easier than killing them. Ask Question. Asked 9 years, 1 month ago.

If you don't kill very many people, you will get the good ending low chaos ending : At the good ending you'll save Empress Emily Kaldwin. At the evil ending Corvo Attano dies.

In the high chaos you can still save Emily You can save Emily at the high chaos ending even if Havelock sees you, by stopping time and using blink to get directly in front of him.

You cannot see an exact value of your current chaos, but here are some tips: Weepers count towards your detection value if seen. They also raise the Chaos Rating if killed Rewiring traps that result in kills will count towards kill amounts and Chaos level Friendly characters do not count towards detection.

This includes Rats, Hagfish, River Krust etc. They also do not raise the Chaos Rating when killed. Here's what you can expect to see. More noticeable in Dishonored's DLC's and the sequel due to voiced protagonists, your chaos affects the personality of characters.

In Low Chaos, they hope to find peaceful solutions and do the right thing, whereas in High Chaos they become more cynical, almost proud of their killing. This stretches to how other characters react as well, such as calling you out on your murder sprees when Sokolov chastises you, or Billie Lurk becoming almost gleeful to commit murder, while these same characters have a hopeful outlook on the world otherwise.

Being the antagonist for much of the original, the return to Dunwall Tower to take down the Lord Regent was always intended to reflect your choices.

The man is deeply paranoid no matter what, but how deep that paranoia goes is determined by chaos. He knows Corvo is coming for him, but not how he's going to deal with him. The Lord Regent has a safe room set up, but in Low Chaos, he feels confident he is safe and will stay in his own bedroom unless provoked.

In High Chaos, he fears for his life knowing Corvo will kill him with ease, and remains in his safe room no matter what. Some of these changes can be more subtle but highlight in small ways how your actions affect the larger world. In Low Chaos, many characters in the world will be more forgiving to each other, while in High Chaos they are more on-edge and violent. Examples of this include two women that can be found having an argument on a rooftop in Dishonored 2. In Low Chaos, they resolve their issues and agree to leave Karnaca together.

In High Chaos, however, one of the women becomes furious and pushes the other off the building to her death. A more obvious side effect of chaos is the health of the world.

In Dishonored, If you pile up dead bodies, there are many more rats, and more guards out on patrol. I actually looked that one up now but skipped it the first time. Anyway on topic: I have found in another thread that somebody said the chaos gets carried over. But also someone said that there is a total count that can give you a good ending even if you have high on some levels.

So this is still confusing to me. Should probably just stop playing dishonored and buy nier automata or something. Found all bonecharms and runes. Probably like half of the blueprints since most of em were worthless for a non-lethal run.

Didnt use internet for anything but to try and find out the 3rd way to deal with delilah. Sparhawk View Profile View Posts. You get punished for killing. So there is only one right playstyle. Not killing. Because you get rewarded for not killing. Last edited by chickadeedeedee ; 29 Apr, pm. Originally posted by Sparhawk :.
