Call me old fashioned but I would rather see someone improve their game by improving their swing, not changing clubs every 5 mins. This would be my only change Bob as I am only 15 months into this great game and I was fitted out so I thought I wouldn't have to change for years to come, if at all as I could develop my game knowing I had the right clubs to suit me! I think the mental side of the game is huge and confidence is a huge factor and it is a given that stiff shafts are designed for faster swings, which I did have but now I've been slowed down considerably.
So, with being repeatably told that my shafts are too stiff for my current swing that plays on my mind at the tee. I think there has to be a balance with the old thought process and the technology that now surrounds us as we all want to play to our best ability and if there is something in the available technology that irons out or assists a remedy in natural flaws that we may have, then why struggle on if practice with a basic off-the-shelf set doesn't seem to be helping matters!
I don't have deep pockets but I do want to enjoy my time on the course and do as well as I can after starting a little late in life so if that means a change of shafts, then so be it but I respect all opinions.
